NP Programs is operated by Pacific Shores Research Group, LLC, a U.S.-based digital publishing organization founded in 2020. We built this site because finding clear, trustworthy information about nurse practitioner education shouldn’t require a research degree of its own.
Our goal is to give prospective NP students the information they actually need to make good decisions about their education. That means accurate program data, honest comparisons, and content written by people who understand nursing rather than just content marketing.
Who writes our content
We don’t outsource our writing to generalists. Our contributors are nurses, nurse practitioners, and nursing educators who have been through the programs and career paths we cover themselves.
Our expert writers are typically practitioners and licensed clinicians who can speak to what the NP education experience is really like. They produce the longer, more detailed content that makes up the core of the site.
We also work with expert commentators, clinicians and academics who contribute focused sections within broader articles. Their job is to add the kind of perspective you only get from someone who has actually done the work, whether that’s clinical rotations, board exams, or years of practice.
You can learn more about our contributors on the site.
How we create content
Every article on NP Programs goes through several rounds of work before it goes live.
Our writers start with research, pulling from accredited program databases, state licensing boards, professional organizations like the AANP and ANCC, and Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Where possible, we incorporate direct insights from our expert contributors about their own professional experiences.
From there, our editorial team reviews each piece for accuracy and clarity. We check that program details, tuition figures, and certification requirements match what schools and licensing boards actually report. If something doesn’t check out, it gets fixed before publication. Errors caught after publication are corrected promptly.
We’re not perfect, and nursing education data changes frequently. But we take accuracy seriously, and we’d rather publish something late than publish something wrong.
How we keep content current
Nursing program data has a shelf life. Tuition goes up, programs change their format, new accreditation decisions come through, and state practice authority laws evolve. We handle updates in two ways.
Data-driven content, things like tuition costs, program counts, and pass rates, gets reviewed and updated on a biannual cycle. We go back to the original sources and verify that the numbers still hold up.
Informational content, such as career pathway guides, specialty overviews, and our blog articles, gets reviewed on an annual basis. We check for outdated recommendations, broken links, and anything that no longer reflects current practice.
If you spot an error or something that looks outdated, we want to hear about it. You can reach our editorial team at info@pacshores.co, and someone will respond within 48 hours.
Editorial independence
This is the part most sites gloss over, so we’ll be direct about it.
NP Programs does carry paid listings and sponsored content. That’s how we fund the site. But our editorial team operates independently from our monetization efforts. No one on the editorial side sees revenue data for individual programs, and compensation from advertisers does not influence how we rank, review, or present schools.
All sponsored content and paid listings are clearly labeled. We want them to be useful to our readers, not just present for the sake of revenue. But they don’t affect our editorial decisions. Rankings and comparisons are produced independently.
Conflicts of interest
Some of our expert contributors work at universities or for organizations that appear on the site. When that’s the case, we disclose the connection. Our editorial team makes final content decisions on its own, and the reader’s interest comes first.
If you have questions about any of our editorial practices, reach out to us at info@pacshores.co. We’re happy to explain how we work.
