About Us

Nurse practitioner education in the U.S. has grown quickly over the past decade. Between the expansion of full practice authority laws, increased demand for primary care providers, and the sheer number of new MSN and DNP programs opening each year, there’s more to sort through than ever for someone trying to figure out where to go to school.

We built NP Programs to help with that. The site covers nurse practitioner programs across all 50 states, broken down by specialty (FNP, AGNP, PNP, PMHNP, WHNP, ACNP) and degree level (MSN, DNP, post-master’s certificates). We publish program comparisons, state licensing guides, career pathway breakdowns, and data on tuition, pass rates, and accreditation status.

The goal is to give prospective NP students a single place to find the information they actually need, without having to piece it together from a dozen university websites and state board pages.

Who we are

NP Programs is owned and operated by Pacific Shores Research Group, LLC, an independent digital publisher based in the United States. Pacific Shores operates several education-focused websites, each built around a specific professional discipline.

Our content is written by people who have actually worked in nursing, taught in NP programs, or both.

Editorial standards

Our writers and researchers review accreditation directories from CCNE and ACEN, state board of nursing websites, IPEDS data, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and individual university program pages to compile our listings. We aim to build program lists that are as complete as possible for every state and specialty we cover.

Program data, including tuition, credit requirements, and accreditation status, is reviewed and updated on a biannual cycle. Informational content like career guides and specialty overviews is reviewed annually.

If we publish rankings or curated lists, the criteria are described on the page.

For a more detailed look at how we produce and maintain content, see our Editorial Standards page.

How we make money

We earn revenue through program advertisements and sponsored placements on the site. This helps cover the costs of research, writing, and ongoing data maintenance.

Our editorial content is not influenced by compensation. Sponsored listings are clearly labeled, and rankings are produced independently.

Data sources and accuracy

Nursing education is a moving target. Programs open, close, change their format, adjust tuition, and update admission requirements regularly. We pull data from the sources listed above and check it periodically, but we’re not infallible.

If you notice that information about a program is incorrect or outdated, please let us know. We take corrections seriously and will update the site promptly.
